Why do you look so FAMILIAR?
Hair Color: Her hair is blonde. A pale, almost platinum in the summer, it darkens to sandy-blonde in the winter. In the right light, it appears white or brown, during the summer and winter, respectfully.
Hairstyle: She wears is short. Cropped close to her head, Haruka tends to opt for a very boyish look. Some have even likened the cut to that which a woman in the military might wear.
Eye Color: Green. Though often a bright, yet dark piercing emerald, they will sometimes shift to a silver-blue if Amara is particularly strong in the fight for dominance. And at times, they will be nearly black, darkened by pain or sorrow, or with the shadows of haunting and faults cast over them.
Body Type: Ina word, Haruka has an athletic body build. However, this isn't all. Though tall and lean, with muscles of wire and just as strong, she is also very skinny. If she moves correctly, she skin will be pulled taught ad her bones can be seen. (This is also why she doesn't often wear revealing clothing.)

Skin Tone Though one would expect Haruka to be tanned for all the time she spends outside, her skin is relatively pale, even to the point of almost being unhealthily so, during the winter months.
Nationality: Half Japanese, half German.
Clothing Style: Haruka's style of dress is extremely masculine. Most of the time, one can find her wearing men’s' dress shirts, trousers, and means dress shoes. However, if she's feeling a bit more casual, she will opt for a dress shirt, jeans, and running shoes. So far as formal wear is concerned, she will only wear tuxedos or suits – the only dress she would even consider wearing (if it were still in her possession) would be her Senshi Gown.
Noteworthy Features: Aside from her height, her eyes are the one thing which stand out in her otherwise plain, androgynous face. Of course, this isn't her only outstanding feature. If her forearms were to be examined closely – indeed, if her entire body were to be examined closely – and in the correct light, one would fins a fine network of scars tracing a map of her life. Both a painful childhood and very troubled adolescence have contributed to this fact.

Personality: At times, Haruka is emotionless, cold, and distant. That's only when she feels threatened, however – like she's being accused, like she has to defend herself with everything she has, including her sharp tongue. Outside of these situations, however, she's a tiny bit more open. Though, due to her upbringing in an extremely broken and, for lack of a better term, dog-eat-dog home, Amara is more reserved with her emotions, and expressions. This is due to the belief that expressing ones emotions and feelings is a weakness, and will get them killed.
She's most reserved about her sexuality, and slightly with sexuality in general, though that doesn't bother her as much. She is also good at concealing her feelings behind a mask, but will only do so if she doesn't trust herself with what she really feels. She regards her greatest weakness to be the people she loves, if only because she loves them so dearly. But, being the kind of person she is, she won't allow this to be known, nor will she ever really express her love. She doesn't know how for the latter, and the former is because she wants to keep them safe and happy, even if it is at cost to herself.

Other:The sleeves are much like those of Super Sailor Moon's fuku, though one rather than three; the broach at the center of her front bow is a sky-blue heart, and her choker is the exact inverse of her tiara, being navy with a gold star at the front-center. Finally, the Space Sword appears with her henshin, sheathed at which ever hip will best accommodate her ambidextrous swordsmanship.

Parents: Joukuu and Kazeko Tenou - one factually deceased, the other's whereabouts are unknown.
Siblings: None.
Other People of Interest: Sam Chiba; best friend and surrogate little sister.
History: Born in Osaka to a drunkard father and a prostitute mother, Haruka's childhood was bleak from the get-go. Being the product of rape and forced marriage, she was never really loved by her parents. Her mother was hardly ever home, and though she did try and be caring, it didn't work much. Of course, Haruka did find her saving grace in a little girl called Sam. They met when Haruka was nine and Sam herself was eight, and the two were joined at the hip after that.
Of course, with things getting worse and worse at home for Haruka – her father would often beat her, and if she had particularly raised his ire, he would rape her – she would stay at Sam's place almost every night. Haruka felt that it was her job to look after Sam, as the girl's foster parents were all but uncaring and unconcerned. Also, Haruka began to notice that Sam kept her sane. And then, Akimi waltzed into the picture.
Haruka was eleven; Sam was seven. Akimi was seventeen. Sam got bad feelings whenever the girl was around; Haruka was enamored; little did either know that Kazeko was paying Akimi to keep an eye on Haruka, so that Joukuu couldn't hurt her anymore than he already had. By the time Haruka was thirteen, she was a fully-fledged member of Akimi's gang - the Red Butterfly Suicide Squad - and she had finally had enough of her father. She shot him, and took Sam with her when she followed Akimi and her gang to Kyoto.
Sam was found by the authorities, but Haruka did nothing to help. Haruka was fourteen, and Sam was ten by this time. The next year was relatively peaceful for the two; Sam settled in with her foster family – a new set this time – and Haruka managed to use the money she had saved up from her part-time job to buy a small, ratty apartment for herself. And then, just as Akimi had, Michiru waltzed into their lives.
Sam didn't get bad vibes, and Haruka held herself back for much longer this time. Sam witnessed the changing relationship, but only ever knew Michiru from glances she caught when she left or Haruka arrived at things the two best friends did together. And then, Haruka accepted her destiny as Sailor Uranus. Things started to go downhill for the two best friends. They fought for the first time on a long time – really fought, in which Sam tied to get her best friend to stop destroying herself (Haruka liked liquor, the kiss of a razor blade, and the dull stab of hunger) and Haruka exploded with her as-of-yet uncontrolled Senshi power.
With Sam nearly dead, but in the end healed and unconscious, because of her, Haruka accepted Michiru's offer and they left. Haruka was sixteen by this time, Michiru fifteen, and Sam twelve. The two traveled around Japan for the next three years, until they were accepted as scholarship students at Mugen Gakuen. Their relationship never developed past friendship, but the sexual tension was thick enough to be cut with a butter knife. They refused to acknowledge their feelings for one another; their mission came first.
Their first real meeting with the Inner Senshi was... Cataclysmic at best. The two groups continued to have differences up until the very end of Haruka and Michiru's one-year tenure in Tokyo. When they met the Inners, Haruka was nineteen, and Michiru eighteen. When they died the first time, Haruka realized that she could no-longer hold back her feelings for Michiru. They spoke, and soon after their extremely awkward confessions, the two became a couple. Really, they wondered why things had taken so long, but were just glad to be together at all.
During the one-year interim between their times as soldiers, Haruka and Michiru set out to see the world. Haruka furthered her racing, and Michiru followed in the wake of the Grand Prix circuit with her concert tour. Haruka loved racing, but she knew that she would be needed once more very soon. And she was correct. When the two finally returned to Tokyo, each a year older and wiser, they were soon drawn back into the battle. But, they were not alone this time.
Legally, Haruka and Michiru were the adoptive parents of one Tomoe Hotaru. They would raise her with their fellow Outer and long-time good friend Setsuna Meioh. Together, despite the war with Chaos, they would have a life. Their life, together, which included family and love. These were things that all of them needed, and which some hadn't had for a very long time, if ever. Haruka held back, not wanting to become attached, but she soon loved her Hime-chan as if she had been her blood daughter, and loved Setsuna as if she were truly her sister.
But, their family wasn't destined to stop growing. Mid-way through the war with Shadow Galactica, a new addition was made to their family. Though Haruka couldn't believe it at first - didn't want to believe it - she found it inevitable. Sam had returned to Japan, and transferred to Juuban High. She was in the year above the Inners, being one year older. If one were to ask Haruka why she had not been present for most of the Sailor War, she would have said she was fighting another battle - one of human nature, and which turned out decidedly better than the final show down with Galaxia did.
Haruka had been fighting a legal battle. By the end of it, she was Sam's legal guardian - as such, she forbade Sam from fighting in the war, despite the fact that the girl had Senshi powers of her own. After the war, though Haruka did keep up with her racing, she tried to be home as much as possible, so that she could be with her family. As such, she trained both Hotaru and Sam, side-by-side, in the use of their Senshi powers.
Currently, she races in the Japanese and Asian Grand Prix's, and does her best to be a father to Hotaru, a sister to Sam, and a best friend to Setsuna. As for herself and Michiru... They have been lovers for five years now, and she intends to ask for Michiru's hand before the year is out. However, with the new enemy popping up, and new problems in her own life and the lives of those she loves, Haruka finds herself worrying about where she will stand in this coming war.
Because, in the end, she is as called by the Dark as by the Light -and her fate hangs in the balance.
